I am curious as to local conservative reaction to the following two recent stories:
First, Richard Shelby (R-AL) is putting a blanket hold on all Obama's nominees, seemingly as a way to ensure certain earmarks (ie: "Pork") gets directed to his state. The quoted part below comes from his office:
"Sen. Shelby has placed holds on several pending nominees due to unaddressed national security concerns,"...

I actually met someone today who is not from Indiana who is rooting for the Colts in the Super Bowl. Because the Saints have never won the Super Bowl and because the city of New Orleans really deserves something to celebrate, I kind of assumed that to want the Colts required one to be from Indiana. Of course, Indiana doesn't have much going for it either. Other than the fact it's not Ohio. No one else around here, wants the Colts, right?

“Unfortunately, too many of our citizens have lost faith that our biggest institutions -– our corporations, our media, and, yes, our government –- still reflect these same values. Each of these institutions are full of honorable men and women doing important work that helps our country prosper. But each time a CEO rewards himself for failure, or a banker puts the rest of us at risk for his own selfish gain, people's doubts grow. Each time lobbyists game the system or politicians tear each other down instead of lifting this country up, we lose faith. The more that TV pundits reduce serious debates to silly arguments,...

After reading this article I also read most of the comments, the one thing missing in the article, and the comments, is that the eucalyptus tree gobbles up more co2 than any other tree on the planet (so they say). So is the plan to harvest pulp, or carbon credits? Which has more value?
As noted by one of the comments, HEMP is a far better plant for producing paper, clothing, rope, the oil can be used for fuel, and on and on.

So I gave the owner or the managers plenty of time to return my calls in which they have obviously chosen not to. Maybe this will get their attention. If not, at least the word will be out about their business practices.

Well, my wife and I are moving to the Bozeman area this June from Australia.
I have lived in Australia for 34 years and its time to move. I am a semi pro fly fisher and freelance photographer and even though the economic situation in the USA is not exactly great, it is the right time to set up a business, buy land, build a house and get ready for when it all picks up again, which it will in time.
So we are really exited and looking forward to living in the Bozeman area and making new friends!

In today's Chronicle, there was a letter to the editor where the author accused Dems of wanting to change the Constitution and stated that Republicans had been infiltrated by liberals, apparently, to spend money like crazy during recent years.
I have two problems with this. The first is that I believe the scale of the vitriolic and divisive rhetoric is far heavier on the right. I would like to see if there are anywhere near the numbers of letters to the editor, or public on the record statements attacking...

So for 6 years I had no problem getting up at the crack of dawn, fixing pig tails and lunches and changes of clothes, working a long day, coming home and doing everything in reverse, add some housework, get up in the night several times to feed the baby, then do it again the next day. (well I had one problem, I missed my kids tremendously!)
Seems I could go to work, manage 15 people's workload, be responsible for millions of dollars of life suport gear, meticulous record keeping, explosives handling, rediculous...

Do you think Bridger Bowl's plans to remove the Bridger and Deer Park lifts and replace them with a single triple chair is a good idea?

I was born in raised in Bozeman and and I can not believe how this recession has hurt so many people.
Its time to move to the forest this spring and start over.
We need to start support groups to help and understand every body's feeling about how they feel.
We need to get togather and we will survive togather.
You are not alone about what is happening to you .
Let's talk!!!

Just wondering where all the teabaggers, republicans, and conservatives are now. You've all been screaming for a year about our march into fascism, socialism, communism, etc. Now that the supreme court has single handedly thrown us into the literal definition of fascism overnight, you guys are the ones applauding. Are there any of you out there that have a problem with the supreme courts decision regarding the ability of corporations to buy and sell our gov't as they please? If you agree with that decision, please tell us all why, then try and explain how you're not an inconsistent hypocrite.

Happened upon this little pearl flipping through the channels the other night. The US Military contracts scopes for military use with "hidden" Bible references imprinted on them. At least two other countries use them as well. Do you think this violates the military's anti-proselytizing rules?...
