There may be a pill that would include the chemicals that those ill claim help them. If so, these could be prescribed for those that claim they need it by doctors. I am solidly against any kind of illegal drug use. I also don't know if I believe that there are benefits to smoking pot for certain illnesses, or maybe it's simply psychological. Think about it. If a person has never smoked pot, I can't imagine them asking anyone for it (doctor/judge, etc.). I have had 2 surgeries. Even the prescribed pain killers make me sick, literally. I use Ibuprophen, or Teylenol/acetominophen. |

There are a couple of FDA-approved cannabis medications on the market - Marinol, a synthetic form of THC, and Cesamet, a canabanoid analog. They're typically prescribed to fend off nausea during chemotherapy treatments. It is an absolute fact that marijuana alleviates symptoms of glaucoma. Alcohol used to be illegal because the lawmakers said so; now it's not because lawmakers said so. |

Its only illegal because (1) it isn't regulated by the feds, who have to have their noses into everything, and (2) the drug companies and "corporate america" wouldn't benefit from wide spread use. Not making it legal is nothing more than government bulls**t. |

...but after analysis of this post, I realized the the "Disclaimer" is derived from the paranoia derived from certain drug use, as well as the professing and inept wording in these writings. It reminds me of some of the Rastafarians I've met on the various islands of the Carribean, the focus is just - somewhat there, man! |

| Hahaha, actually I don't use drugs and I would bet the price of a testing kit on it. The disclaimer comes from the fact that I knew if I didn't people would write things like you support drug use, ect ect... | ||

I don't support illegal drug use

Been there. Done that. Grew up. Got a life. Just seems as if there are more worthwhile things to apply one's intellect to. But, hey, please get back to us in 10 years or so and let us know how this has worked out for you. Good luck. |

| I'd rather have people sitting on their butts smoking pot, eating potato chips, and giggling than drinking all night, getting into a car and driving. Lord knows, you get high... you're afraid to drive 15mph let alone drive at all... | |

Things here keep wavering back and forth from microissue to microissue, whether it's an issue of legality or not, can you drive on it or not, just what the medical uses are and are the side effects worth it, and more. The big issue here is very well addressed by the fact that it's another case of governmental control where there shouldn't be any! As with most laws these days, a myriad of lobbyism and the special interests of a few has replaced common sense and freedom. Marijuana is not only what's illegal, it's HEMP. The plant has so many different strains and potencies, that of course the abusers will move toward the strongest they can get their hands on, but does that mean that a free America should not be allowed to enjoy the many benefits of a green plant that has so many uses? I think not! Apparently, Canada doesn't think so either, and I haven't heard of social depravity breaking out a few hundred miles to the north. Here is a very insightful two minute video that discusses what's a lot more important here than a few of our prejudices or personal fears: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vDLiHJFPWsM Paste that into your web browser if you're really interested in having an honest discussion! |
